Theyyam Now ("we", "us") runs the Theyyam Now website (theyyam.bookary.in) and Android app (in.bookary.theyyam), a festival calendar for North Kerala. This policy explains what we collect and why.
Information we collect
- Account details: your email address if you sign in (email link or Google). Signing in is optional; the calendar works without an account.
- Trip requests: name, phone number, travel dates, number of travellers and preferences you submit on the Plan a trip form.
- Preferences: preferred dates and interests you save to get festival suggestions.
- Guide chat: messages you send to the Theyyam guide. Signed-in visitors' chats are saved to their account; guest chats are not stored on our servers.
- Device and advertising data: Google AdSense may use cookies or your device advertising ID to show and measure ads.
How we use it
- To show festival listings, suggestions and guide answers.
- To contact you about your trip request by phone.
- To keep your account, preferences and chat history.
- To show advertising that supports the free service.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We use service providers to run the service: our cloud hosting and database provider, an AI provider that processes guide and suggestion messages to generate replies, Google Sign-In, and Google AdSense for ads. See Google's policy at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
Security and retention
Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access is restricted to you and our admins. We keep account data until you delete your account, and trip requests for up to 12 months.
Your choices
You can ask us to access, correct or delete your data at any time. See Delete your account and data. You can reset or opt out of personalised ads in your device's Google settings.
Children
The service is meant for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their data.
